The Andhra Pradesh Chemists & Druggists Association (APCDA) is planning to set up a pharmacy college in Hyderabad. The proposed college would be exclusively for the family members of pharmacy traders in the state !
According to the association it had set up Andhra Pradesh Chemists and Druggists Association Trust, in order to carry out the proposed plan and run the day-today activities of the college. The college would be coming up at the existing 1800 sq ft premises of APCDA in Hyderabad. The association stated that it is setting up the college mainly with a view to provide professional education to the family members of chemists and druggists and enable them to support their family business.
"We formed a trust last week to carry out the plan and run the college. The college would come up in our existing premise and in the future if required, we would shift the college into a separate campus in the city" said, Dr Ghisulal Jain, president, Andhra Pradesh Chemists and Druggists Association.
The association is yet to decide on the courses, which upcoming college would be offering. The fund would be raised from the association members and the wholesale dealers. It is also learnt that the association would approach the pharma companies to support their move and each block would be named in after the sponsors.
Dr Jain further added that the college would provide all practical knowledge to the students, including practical knowledge on the preparation of bill and educating the consumers. He stated that most of the colleges are not offering this kind of practical knowledge to the students.
